     2017-2018 School Year

Instructor: Mr. Cody Rose

Grades 9-12


1st period: 8:00 – 9:35 (planning period)

2nd period: 9:40 – 11:15

3rd period: 11:20 – 1:15

4th period: 1:20 – 3:00


  • Every Monday I will be available for remediation or conferences after school until 3:45.

Course Description: 

This course is designed to serve as a support for students to meet the individual goals addressed in their IEP. Students will work towards completing their academic as well as functional goals. This course will also serve as support for extra help in their core classes (Math, English, Science, and History).


Classroom Rules: 

  1. I will be on time for class.
  2. I will treat others with kindness.
  3. I will respect others, school property and Mr. Rose
  4. I will allow Mr. Rose to teach.
  5. I will allow my peers to learn.
  6. I will be responsible for my own actions.
  7. I will be responsible for my own learning.
  8. I will be responsible for making sure I have my class work, homework, tests, or projects that I need to complete in Mr. Rose’s class. (Students will not be allowed out of class to disrupt others classes to get their work!)
  9. Phones are not allowed at any time. The classroom has enough computers with internet access to complete work on. 

 *Students are also to abide to all Southern Wayne High School and Wayne County Board of Education policies.

Required Supplies: Pencil, paper, assignments form core classes EVERYDAY!


Participation Grade: 40%

Classwork Grade: 30%

Goal-work Grade: 30%

 Grading  Scale:

A: 90 – 100                             D: 60-69

B: 80 – 89                               F: Below 60 

C: 70 – 79                               * Exams will count as 20% of the student’s final grade.



  • Students having more than six (6) unexcused absences for this class will be in jeopardy of not receiving credit for this class.
  • Students must be present for a minimum of one hour to be counted present for the class period.
  • Students have five (5) days to turn in makeup work immediately upon their return to school.


To students:  I have high expectations for all of my students and together we will meet those expectations.  I believe in each of you, I trust in you, you will be listened to, I care for each of you as students and as people, you are important, and you will succeed as long as we work together to obey the classroom and school rules. These rules are in place to help you be successful in your classes so that you can pass on to your next grade or graduate.
