I will be available to stay after school for conferences or remediation on Mondays from 3:15-4:00.

 

Course Description:

Students in Microsoft Imagine Academies benefit from world-class Microsoft curriculum and software tools to tackle real-world challenges in the classroom environment.  In the first part, students will learn to use the newest version of Microsoft Word interface, commands, and features to create, enhance, customize, share and create complex documents, and publish them.  In the second part, students will learn to use the newest version of Microsoft PowerPoint interface, commands, and features to create, enhance, customize, and deliver presentations.  English language arts are reinforced.

 

Classroom Rules:

  • Be in the room and seated when the bell rings.
  • Respect others while they are talking.
  • Raise your hand to be recognized.
  • Always bring supplies to class.
  • No food, drinks, gum, or candy allowed.
  • Follow all school rules as stated in the SWHS handbook.

 

Grading Scale:

A = 90-100

B = 80-89

C = 70-79

D = 60-69

F = Below 60


Grade Weights:

Nine Weeks Evaluation

  • 35% Tests
  • 30% Classwork
  • 20% Quizzes
  • 15% GMETRIX

Final Evaluation

  • 40% First nine weeks grade
  • 40% Second nine weeks grade
  • 20% Final exam (50% IMS Test, 50% Word and PowerPoint Certification Exams)

Attendance:

Students having more than six (6) unexcused absences for this class period will be in immediate jeopardy of not receiving course credit for the course.  Students must be present a minimum of one hour to be counted present for the class period.  Students have five (5) student days to turn in makeup work immediately upon their return to school.
