Course Expectations

PARENTING AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Students in this class will learn about the important parenting issues that relate to children and family needs.  Emphasis is on the parents’ responsibilities for, and influences on children while providing care and guidance.  This will result in students being able to make good parenting decisions for their child’s growth and development.

 
 APPAREL DEVELOPMENT I & II
 
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
      
Students in this class will learn the basic skills needed for clothing construction. They will learn to select, use, and care for the supplies and equipment used.  They will also express creativity by designing garments according to their individual needs and preferences.  The goal of the class is to help students gain skills that will prepare them to be better consumers, citizens, and workers.
 
 EVALUATION CRITERIA FOR ALL CLASSES:

 

50% Tests, Projects

50% Class work, Homework, Daily Grades

 

GRADING SCALE:

 

93-100      A

85-92    B

77-84           C

70-76           D

 
CLASS EXPECTATIONS:

 

1.     Follow all Southern Wayne rules as stated in the Southern Wayne handbook.

2.     Be on time for class and in your seats when the bell rings.

3.     Students are responsible for their own necessary supplies. Bring them to class daily.

4.     Chewing gum, candy, food, etc. is not to be eaten in or during class.

5.     Please raise your hand if you wish to speak or leave your seat.

6.     The teacher dismisses class, not the bell. Stay in your seats until dismissed.

7.     Please do not sit on anything but your seats and sit in them properly.

8.     Respect the rights and properties of others.

9.     Be courteous and polite to one another.

10. No profanity will be tolerated.

11. Students are responsible for all missed assignments.

12. No Primping.

13. Make sure all your “B’s” are covered.  (boobs, butt, and belly) Dress according to dress code.
